Wednesday, October 1, 2003. She was born is Duluth and graduated from Duluth Central
High School. She was a lifelong Duluth resident. Bertha was a member of
Hadassah Temple Israel and the Duluth Superior Symphony Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel; parents,
Max and Beatrice Gordon; two brothers, Nathan and Milton Gordon; and a sister
Bessie Goldfarb. She is survived by her son, Michael (Jill) Horowitz of
Richfield, Minn.; a granddaughter, Donelle (Wayne) Reyes of Killington, Vt.;
a grandson, Jeremy Horowitz of New Orleans, La.; two great-granddaughters,
Sierra and Jordyn Reyes; a sister, Sophie Kaner of Duluth; a sister-in-law,
Rae Howard of Kirkland, Wash.; and several nieces and nephews. SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 3, 2003, Graveside
Services at Temple Emanuel Cemetery. Rabbi Amy Bernstein officiating.
Memorials may be made to Temple Israel. Arrangements are by Johnson Crawford
